Integrated IT – From Early Collaboration to Better Digital Procurement

This event introduces the concept of Integrated IT, developed by MOWE in collaboration with Lakeside and inspired by more than 15 years of experience with Integrated Construction. The approach focuses on creating a closer collaboration between client and supplier in the earliest phases of an IT procurement, so that needs, objectives and possible solution paths are clarified before central requirements and solutions are locked in.

The event is designed for professionals involved in IT procurement, public tenders, digital projects and contract management – for example project owners, procurement specialists, legal advisors, product owners and IT suppliers who want to work more value-driven and agile within existing procurement rules.

What the event is about

You will be introduced to how principles from agile development, iteration and continuous learning can be applied within the framework of procurement law to create more flexible, value-creating and accurate IT procurements. The goal is not to give up control, but to create better conditions for making the right decisions at the right time – and thereby increase the likelihood of successful IT projects.

Key topics and learning outcomes

During the event, you will gain insight into, among other things:

• Requirement strategy: How a clear requirement strategy can support specification work and help you avoid over-specification too early in the process.
• Contract design: How the contract can be structured to support a more flexible procurement and delivery process, without compromising governance or legal robustness.
• Flexible commercial models: Which opportunities exist for more flexible models for time, price and deliveries, so that risk, value creation and learning can be better balanced over the course of the project.

Throughout the day, the instructors will connect these elements to concrete, practical models for value-creating IT procurement and show how early supplier involvement can strengthen decision-making and reduce the risk of misaligned solutions.

From Integrated Construction to Integrated IT

MOWE has worked with early supplier involvement in construction projects for more than 15 years through the Integrated Construction method. The model brings the contractor’s practical experience and execution competencies into the design phase at an early stage, where they create the greatest value. Integrated Construction builds on traditional contract forms, but is supplemented by a dedicated collaboration phase where client, consultants and contractor develop the project together with a focus on shared goals, transparency and ongoing optimisation rather than blame and conflict.

Integrated IT transfers these principles to the digital domain: stronger collaboration, better decisions and greater certainty that IT projects can be carried out efficiently and with high quality.
