Collaboration
Good collaboration takes more than solid agreements and good intentions. It takes an understanding of our clients’ reality – their culture, processes and legal framework.
Collaboration quickly turns into big words: break down silos, unlock potential, create synergy. At other times it is about talking to each other properly and focusing on the good relationship that has to carry the project when things get really difficult. When budgets and schedules start to slip, the big words fall short and good relationships come under pressure. We work from the concrete: the key wording in the agreement, a helpful change to the meeting structure, an honest conversation about when it adds value to involve other parties in the project. Starting from what you already do, we focus on what supports and what undermines good collaboration, what can be cut away – and which operational levers make the biggest difference.
Our advice includes:
→ Early contractor involvement
We make collaboration concrete and operational, so the contractor’s knowledge of buildability, sustainability and price comes into play early.
→ Pressured situations and conflict management
We advise day to day on what serves the collaboration in the long run – also when a project comes under pressure and skills beyond the purely legal are required.
→ Procurement design and processes
We design tenders that create dialogue with bidders and turn bid evaluation into a process you collaborate on.
→ Collaboration as an award criterion
We formulate award criteria that reflect how the collaboration will actually work, so the winner of the tender is also the party you get the most out of working with.
→ Knowledge capture and off-boarding
We have developed methods to uncover the knowledge – good and bad experiences from completed projects – that needs to be captured and put to use when a key employee leaves a project.
→ Organizational design
Together with you, we work out what your organization around the project should look like for you to reach your goals.
